IL MONDO A COLORI DELLA FAMIGLIA BWANAVAL THE COLOURFUL WORLD OF THE BWANAVAL FAMILY Preface by BARBARA PALOMBELLI
How would have been the world without the thousands of varieties of shapes and colours that makes everything and everyone so unique and special? Maybe a boring and a flat world, according to the huge magnificent Baobab on the fantastic Sabamom Island. If you are curious to know how this splendid multicultural world was born, follow the adventures of Florin and Aisha, and fly on board of the shell called Fantasy, to the far land of Sabamom. Here in a remote time, a strange fact happened and so the night, the moon and the stars disappeared and for centuries people of Sabamom lived under the light of the day untill...
FROM THE PREFACE by Barbara Palombelli
When the reality is unacceptable, we remain with the stories. When the reality is unaccountable, the fantasy helps to understand. When the sky above us is small like the ceiling of a room, we can – maybe – we must flee/run away elsewhere…The stories of Valentina Acava Mmaka bring us in a magic world, where reality and fantasy merge with her love for Africa. You can read the sound, the smells, the steps of the tropical forest … you can breath the universal feelings that we normally struggle to find in our stressful and destroying days that daily condemn us to lives less and less generous. In the true life of Valentina there is only one continent, hers. There is only one colour of the skin, the one of her small children. There are many values, lived and witnessed first with the voluntary service, now with her personal commitment as a writer. Few months ago, on my pc appeared a letter of her … I rushed to her house, I wanted to know this smiling and serene woman. I wanted to get a bit of her vigour, superior to any disappointment. I came back home, after the meeting, full of questions. Is it possible that still nowadays the value of equality is so revolutionary? Is it possible that there are people, in Italy, still ready to discriminate, to distinguish and to oppose around one’s own – accidental or fortuitously - normal diversity? Is it possible that there’s nobody who yells two thousand after Christ, against the merchants in the Temple? Than I read the manuscript that Valentina putted in my bag, together with a sack of hazelnuts, just like a fairy of the wood. And I understood. I felt that the story – true – of Valentina will have a happy end. I’m sure of that! Like this beautiful tale … that you’re going to read.
PRESS RELEASE
It is a tale of which a part of its educational aims, it is also forming a delicate story where the magic spirit, easily recognisable in the African culture of animis, is the happy motive of an enchanted vision inspired in the children's world. STILOS - by Gianni Bonina The colourful world of the BwanaVal family takes us back to the origin of the ancestors times, the myth which stays in the fantasy and unconscious state of each one of us, both adults and children. CHIAMA L'AFRICA - by Paola Luzzi The tale is not only for children to read and discuss in schools, but has also lots of significances in front of us adults, whereby we are still persisting in distinguishing the black colour and the white, and to separate the human from human. NONSOLOSCUOLA - By Tiziano Trivella When the reality is unacceptable, we remain with the stories. When the reality is unaccountable, the fantasy helps to understand. When the sky above us is small like the ceiling of a room, we can – maybe – we must run away elsewhere… The stories of Valentina Acava Mmaka bring us in a magic world, where reality and fantasy mixes with her love for Africa.
